Paperwork lenders commonly ask for

Missing or out-of-date tax and business records are a common reason applications stall. A chartered accountant or tax professional can help you put them in order before you apply.

Most lenders ask for 2–3 years of ITRs, especially for self-employed and business borrowers.

A short checklist

  • Check who they are. Look at their profile, experience and the services they list. For a CA, you can ask for their ICAI membership number.
  • Agree the fee in writing. Ask what the fee covers, when it is payable and whether it is refundable if the work is not completed.
  • Ask how they are paid. Some loan advisors are paid by lenders. It is reasonable to ask whether that is the case and which lenders they work with.
  • Be wary of guarantees. Only the lender decides. Treat “guaranteed approval” or “approval regardless of CIBIL” as a warning sign.
  • Apply with the lender you choose. Read the lender’s official sanction letter and loan agreement yourself before signing.
  • Protect your accounts. Never share OTPs, PINs, passwords or bank logins with anyone.
Questions

Using a professional for your loan

Who checks the professionals listed in the directory?

LoanBaazi and our partner site UdyamFilings share one directory. A professional appears only after the verification team has reviewed their account and approved their profile. Approval is not a guarantee of service quality, so still compare experience and ask questions before you engage anyone.

Can a professional get my loan approved?

No. Only the bank or NBFC decides whether to lend, how much and on what terms. A loan advisor can help you understand options and prepare a complete application, and a CA can prepare the financial documents lenders ask for — but nobody can promise approval.

Do I have to pay to use the directory?

Browsing the directory and contacting a professional through it is free for you. Any fee for the professional’s own work is agreed directly between you and them — ask for it in writing before work begins.

How many professionals will contact me if I send an enquiry?

An enquiry is shared with at most 3 verified professionals who offer that service.

What should I never share with a professional?

Never share OTPs, net-banking or card PINs, passwords or your bank login. A genuine advisor does not need them. Share documents only for the purpose you agreed, and only with the person you are working with.
