Understand the basics

What lenders look at

Lenders assess your qualification and registration, years of practice, income stability and existing obligations. Practice income is usually verified through ITRs and bank statements, salaried income through salary slips. Some products are unsecured; larger amounts or equipment purchases may be secured.

FACTOR 01

Qualification & registration

A recognised degree and valid professional registration are usually required.

FACTOR 02

Years of practice

Longer practice history and stable income support larger amounts.

FACTOR 03

Income & obligations

Your current EMIs affect how much additional instalment is affordable.

FACTOR 04

Purpose & security

Clinic setup, equipment and personal loans can carry different terms and security.

Rates, fees, eligibility rules and approval decisions vary by lender and applicant. Confirm the latest terms directly with the lender before applying.
Documents

Documents lenders commonly ask for

  • Degree and professional registration certificate
  • KYC
  • ITRs and practice bank statements, or salary slips if salaried
  • Proof of clinic or office address, if self-practising
  • Supplier quotation for equipment purchases

A general list — each lender publishes its own requirements and may ask for more. Share documents only through the lender’s official channels.

Get prepared

Before you submit an application

  • Keep degree and registration certificates ready and current.
  • Make sure practice income is reflected in ITRs and bank statements.
  • For equipment, get a supplier quotation first.
  • Compare total cost: interest, processing fee and prepayment charges.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to own a clinic to apply?

Not necessarily. Salaried and practising professionals may both be eligible; lenders assess income evidence either way.

Can recently qualified professionals borrow?

Some lenders offer smaller amounts early in a career; a co-applicant or security may help.

Is a professional loan different from a personal loan?

Some lenders have dedicated products for professionals; terms and eligibility vary, so compare the full cost.
